Fun Exercise. Twitter voted for the actor they believe best matches the main character descriptions from Turn Two. Either of the actors in each poll would be fabulous. The majority votes were 'cast' for . . .
Super Fine Terrence Benjamin: Lamon Archey
(34% of votes)
Adoring eyes tracked Terrence as he strolled through the airport in jeans, a V-neck white T that stretched across his broad, muscular chest, and unlaced Jordans. As he waited for his luggage, women passing by slowed down for a closer look. The attention never gets old - he was flattered. His handsome chiseled face, mysterious eyes and seductive smile captivated one woman into an elongated stare.

Super Fine Rondell Mitchell: Idris Elba
(47% of votes)
As usual, Rondell was the main attraction. Handsome and wealthy, he stands six-foot-four and is always well dressed in Armani, Hugo Boss, or custom. His coffee brown skin is smooth and his fade is always tight. His magnetic charisma is effortless and his confidence non-offensive. Although surprising to some, there is nothing pretentious about him. He is as genuine as his infectious smile.

The Beautiful Traci Grant: Gugu Mbatha-Raw
(31% of votes)
Rondell made a concerted effort to follow the road of information, but the gentle tuck of her shoulder-length hair behind the ear caused him to veer off-track, several times.
As she walked to the dry erase board to illustrate the market’s occupancy rise, so did Rondell’s testosterone. His eyes were drawn to her perfect round butt, accentuated by a clinging skirt with pleats around the hemline. Yet, he resisted his attraction to this woman. She was nearly ten years his junior, his employee, and he knew her fiancé. Still, her almond shaped light brown eyes mesmerized him to what he feared would be the point of no return.

Daily, I am posting my favorite song from each EWF Album. It's been torture, selecting only one, but I continue on with Part 4. Be sure to see Part 1, 2 and 3 posts for prior years.
In the later years, the ballads fulfilled my yearning for Vintage EWF.
1997, In the Name of Love
My favorite EWF Album Cover!
2003, The Promise
"Where Do We Go From Here"
In Maurice's book, "My Life With Earth Wind & Fire", he said that in the later years he should have released ballads appealing to the Adult Contemporary audience. His hindsight was 20-20. As EWF matured, so did their faithful audience. This is my least favorite album cover.
One of the best songs from EWF in years. It has that EWF almighty groove and satisfying lyrical content ...
Riches come and go - only Love is Pure Gold!" Maurice & Phillip together = Pure Magic!
2013, Now, Then & Forever
This song was definitely the "Then". A ballad that takes you back to the classic sound of EWF.
This album cover ranks near the top.

And that's exactly what this song dictates that you do - Groove!
"Side by Side"
Love, Love it! Smooth, in the pocket storytelling.
(post dates out of order. Electric Universe released after Powerlight- my bad.)
1983, Electric Universe
"Could It Be Right"
This was the only selection that I didn't find
challenging because it was the only song from the
album that moved me.
1987, Touch The World
"Hear Today and Gone Tomorrow"
Sho nuff sophisticated soul. Top 10 favorite EWF
ballad. Phillip slayed it!
"I'm In Love"
Of the songs on this album, this one captured the essence of EWF
Chapter 19, The Showdown is an explosive chapter. Terrence, one of the main characters, becomes fighting mad. Perhaps if Dre had positive influence in his life back then, he would have known better...done better.
Chapter 19 excerpt:
Like thunder out of nowhere, in stormed Terrence. “Y’all need to give me a minute alone with Traci. I’ve got some things to say before I clear my shit outta here.” His face was tight, lips were clenched and his fidgeting body promised a ticking time bomb.
“Boy, have you lost your mind?! When you walk into a room, you greet people, especially your parents. I don’t give a damn how many World Series you win or how mad you may be, don’t you cuss in the presence of your parents or the Grants.”
“Mama, I ain’t got time for all that.”
She pulled him aside. “Terrence, don’t live to regret this night. You ain’t no saint.”
Terrence was too mad. He couldn’t find words so he momentarily lapsed silent.
Esther continued. ”What you do and say here tonight could affect the rest of your life. Act like you got some sense, you hear me?”
“I hear you, Mama.” The rage was contained, but it was obvious that at some point, he would blow.
“Frank, let’s go. We need to give them some time alone.” She hugged Karen and John. “We’ll talk later.”
“Ok, girl, we’ll be right behind you.”
“What!?” John exclaimed. “I ain’t leaving Traci with that boy! He’s not thinking straight!”
Esther comforted, “I didn’t raise no fool. Let ‘em talk, John.”
“Come on, honey, it will be ok. Right, Terrence?” Karen insisted.
The anger muted him. Instead, he gave her a confirming half-nod.
John beckoned him to the door and leaned over speaking closely to his ear, in a near whisper, but with directness. “Terrence, you listen to me. I know you’re mad. I know you’re hurt. But lay hands on my baby and I will have to kill you. Talk it out. Just don’t put your hands on her.” John lowered his head and raised a brow. “We good?”
Terrence wanted to tell him to shut the fuck up, but he bit his tongue. “I understand, sir. I’m not going to touch her. I just need to clear the air, get my stuff and get the hell up outta here. That’s all!”
“Ok. I’m taking you at your word.” Tears were welling in Terrence’s eyes. “Go on now, talk to her. Talk!” John extended his hand, which Terrence shook in agreement.
